Join Our 2018 City 2 Surf Training Crew!!

Our training is geared at building running endurance and preparing runners for the City 2 Surf on 12th August, however even if you don’t plan to do this event the training is great for getting fit and keeping fit over winter and preparing for other events. Some of our sessions will be Tempo sessions and we will also do plenty of hill strength training.

Training will commence on Saturday 2nd June 2018 Genetics Fitness Club – 314 Hillsborough Rd, Warners Bay.

Our training is each Saturday at various locations around Newcastle which you will be advised about when you register. Our session kicks off at 6.15am and we are finished around 7.15-7.30am.

Each runner is assigned to a training group, which is determined by running experience, pace and endurance. This training caters for the absolute beginner, intermediate and advanced runners. Each group is guided by 1-2 trainers over the run courses each week.

* A Run each Saturday at a variety of beautiful locations around Newcastle
* A run Specific Warm-up
* Various length course options to suit your ability (pace groups)
* Support and tips from trainers to help you improve you’re running
* A training program for the week to guide your training
* Coffee and a chat post session for anyone who’s keen

* 11 x Guided Training Sessions
* Education and Support from qualified Athletics Australia running coaches and mentors
* A weekly Training guide emailed to you after your Saturday session with detailed training sessions

Pre-Requisites for Joining this Training
* There is no pre-requisite for joining this training crew, we invite absolute beginner runners to our group, however we do not suggest or encourage our beginners to aim to be running the full 14km City 2 Surf by August, we will build our beginners up to 7km of constant running. Some runners may take longer to reach this milestone depending on their commitment throughout the program and a number of other factors but we believe this is just the beginning of your running journey and small steps taken consistently over time achieve big goals!

The total cost of the Program for Genetics Fitness Members is $120. Non Members cost is $150.
Fitness Passport, Caretrac, LMCC & NCC Corporate pay member rate, but a visit will be recorded for each session attended.
